“From grassroots activism to worldwide action, we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance. We notice its absence and celebrate its presence.

Balance drives a better working world. Let's all help create a #BalanceforBetter."

"Balance for Better to me means acknowledging how much better we are together when we are a more balanced society, and to be honest, this isn't just with gender. It's also with race! The workforce shouldn't be just one shade, or gender of people. Women have a voice too and deserve to be heard. Women are not just moms or housewives. We are entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, athletes, authors, political leaders and so much more. Balance for Better is us actively moving toward this kind of representation, and that is what it means to me."

"International Women's Day to me is a day to celebrate the strides women have made and continue to make daily. Balancing careers, our families, and work life can be difficult... but having a community of women and friends who empower each other and support our accomplishments no matter how big or small is so rewarding. As a mother I want my daughter to lift up other girls, and I want her to be an impact on other girls’ lives and that starts now.

Who inspires me the most? It’s my mother, my grandmother, my aunt, my friend, my daughter. It’s all of you women... we all come from different backgrounds, different careers, different lifestyles. We women have come a long way and it’s so exciting that we have each other to support our journey."

"One of the things that has always drawn me to photography is that if you take 10 different people and give them the exact same apple to photograph, you’re going to get 10 completely different apples!”

The way I - or anyone - goes about capturing an image is like a small summary of who they are. I honestly really enjoy being a female in an industry that some think of as male-dominated. If working with another female, I have the opportunity to connect with them in a really comfortable and relatable way, and if male, I have the potential to offer a bit of an alternate perspective to theirs. Being a female in this industry has also really pushed me to take a directive position, trust my gut, and not be afraid to say what I think! Being a female is only a small part of what makes me who I am as a photographer, but I love being able bring both leadership and relatability to shoots. All of these things help bring to me an end result that is unique to me and -  ideally - keep my clients satisfied."
